The F Bar Arena and horse center is a full service riding arena with a newly renovated boarding faculty. We have regularly scheduled barrel races and team roping events. We also have a restaurant and bar above the arena where you can enjoy some great food and drink while watching the events.

The F Bar Arena and horse center is found just 9 miles south of I-84 in Kuna, ID. The property sits on Ten Mile and Kuna road (Avalon).

The arena itself was a WWII airplane hanger built in 1942. When its days of war were over, it was up for auction in 1976. Purchased for $1500 by Gene Winchester, the building was torn down, moved, and rebuilt in 1978 as a horse facility.

The arena, over the years, has seen High school rodeos, ICA Finals, BMX, team pennings, ropings, and more. The Happy Heart horse barn was steadily used, but sorely neglected. It seemed there was more baling twine used to hold up panels then on hay. The stalls were 70’s style - wood, iron bars, dark, and small. The lighting was poor and the ground hard. It was infamously known as the cave, but being one of the few indoor buildings to ride, the horsemen kept coming.

Just this past Spring (April 05’), John Freeman purchased the tired old building. John is no stranger to hard work. Growing up on the mountains to the south of Baker, Oregon in Sumpter, John learned early on that hard work and long days made character in your person and risks easier to take. John slowly began to breathe life back into the tomb and after many months, she breathed back.

The F Bar Arena most definitely has a heart beat, a rhythm, that is all her own. With so many major changes done over the past 9 months, it is hard to remember the way it had been for so many years. So far, the F Bar has been primarily used for team ropings and barrel races. Promoting events that are fun and full of cash to win, John and Amy are both making The F Bar something to talk about and a place you can’t wait to come back to.
